Trading During Live Matches
TradeStars is a live trading game. You can buy and sell player shares before, during, and after matches.
Trading Is Always Open
There are no fixture lock windows. Your trade goes through right away at the current market price, and your credits and holdings update immediately.
You can rebalance at any time based on match flow, team news, and your own risk tolerance.
Fairness Rule During Live Play
Live broadcast feeds and official stats feeds are not always perfectly in sync. To keep the game fair for everyone:
- Your trade executes immediately
- Scoring impact starts on the next official stats refresh during live play
In plain terms:
- Buy during live play: those new shares start earning from the next refresh
- Sell during live play: those sold shares stop earning from the next refresh
This prevents “just-scored” sniping while still rewarding fast, smart reactions.
Example (1-minute stats refresh):
12:00:00official stats refresh12:00:40Player A scores in real life12:00:50you buy Player A shares12:01:00next official stats refresh
Your new shares do not get the 12:00:40 goal points. They start earning from the next scoring window.
Credit Recycling
Credit recycling is still the core loop:
- Buy players before or during key windows
- Let positions earn points
- Sell or trim to free credits
- Reinvest in better upcoming opportunities
Because trading stays open, you can recycle earlier instead of waiting for full-time.
Hold vs. Sell
Not every position should be sold right away.
Sell / trim when:
- You need credits for a better opportunity
- Price already reflects most of the upside
- You want to reduce risk concentration
Hold / add when:
- You still expect strong output ahead
- Re-entry may cost more (price move + trading costs)
- You want to keep exposure through volatility
Inactivity Penalty (48-Hour Rule)
To reward active management, TradeStars applies an inactivity penalty.
How it works: Each player position has its own timer. If you do not buy or sell that player for 48 hours, that player’s score contribution is reduced by 5%.
Rule: no trade on a specific player for 48 hours = 5% score reduction on that player’s contribution.
Practical takeaway: active portfolios that rebalance through the week rarely hit this penalty.
Trading Strategy Summary
| Action | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Buy | Any time (pre/live/post) | Build exposure where you see value |
| Sell / Trim | Any time (pre/live/post) | Free credits, reduce risk, or realize gains |
| Reinvest | After credits free up | Compound exposure across fixture windows |
| Avoid 48h inactivity | Ongoing | Avoid 5% inactivity penalty |
Pro Tips
- Watch refresh timing. Live buys/sells affect scoring from the next official stats refresh.
- Don’t chase every highlight. A huge price jump can erase expected value.
- Use partial exits. Trimming part of a winner is often better than all-in/all-out moves.
